Supernatural Power ( Cool Jokes )

There was this case in this hospital's Intensive Care ward where patients always died in the same bed on Friday mornings around 9am regardless of their age, gender, medical history or medical condition.

This puzzled the doctors and some even thought that it had to do with the supernatural: Why did death occur at that same bed around the same time every Friday?

So the doctors decided to go down to that particular ward to investigate the cause of the deaths.

Come Friday morning, everyone at the hospital ward nervously waited for the terrible phenomenon to occur again. The new (unknowing) patient laid there.

Some doctors held wooden crosses, prayer books and other holy objects to ward off evil...and they waited.

8am, the patient was still alive...

8.30am...still breathing...

Just before the 'cursed' time, the door to the ward swung open...

Then At Exact 9.00 Am, the part-time Friday cleaner, comes in and unplugs the life support system so that she can use the vacuum cleaner!

Dining Out: Top 5 restaurants in India

The Miele Guide to Asia's finest restaurants is written by food experts who know and love the region .
This is a list of the top 5 restaurants in India, where the cuisine is as varied and rich as the nation's history. It is not endorsed by Reuters.

1. Bukhara, New Delhi

Bukhara is, without a doubt, the most famous restaurant in India, and it has been visited by an untold number of celebrities and heads of state. Until recently, London-based Restaurant magazine considered it Asia's very best restaurant. Set up in 1977, the restaurant serves food from the North West Frontier province, a region known for its rugged terrain and simple but delicious cuisine. The food is mostly grilled and cooked with minimal spices. You are expected to eat with your fingers, though you can always ask for cutlery, and the restaurant will provide you with a lovely red-and-white apron to ensure that you don't mess up your clothes. Die-hard Bukhara fans return time and again for the Bukhara dahl, lentils cooked lovingly with tomatoes, spices and butter, and sikandari raan, a whole leg of baby lamb that has been marinated for hours with spices such as cumin and cinnamon before being grilled in the tandoor to perfection.

2. Indigo, Mumbai

A host of international celebrities, including Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, have walked through the doors of Indigo, making it one of the hottest restaurants in the city. Housed in a lovely colonial bungalow, the restaurant and bar are as chic as its clientele, and the food is excellent. Owned by renowned restaurateur-chef Rahul Akerkar, Indigo serves creative modern European cuisine infused with Indian influences. Dishes to try include the celebrated lobster risotto with black olive tapenade, fenugreek-spiced tuna loin with shiraz and clove reduction, and the juniper berry-cured tandoori chicken with burnt garlic oyster sauce. Dinner reservations are essential.

3. Thai Pavilion, Mumbai

Its quietly plush and soothing decor topped by consistently impeccable service and food are all part of Thai Pavilion's draw. What this restaurant excels in are the staples like phad Thai, tom yum soup, raw papaya salad, and steamed fish. The pla rad prik (fish in chilli) is also a winner. Besides its list of classic Thai dishes, there is also a wide selection of vegetarian options to choose from. Reservations are recommended if you're angling for a table, but not necessary for the bar counter area.

4. Oh! Calcutta, Mumbai

With branches in Kolkata, New Delhi, Pune and Bangalore, Oh! Calcutta is all about reintroducing the nostalgic cuisine of Kolkata to diners. The Mumbai outlet is easy to spot, with an iconic hand-pulled rickshaw displayed outside the restaurant. Fresh seafood from Cochin and Mumbai, as well as river fish and crustaceans from Kolkata, are the main highlight here. Zoom in on the hilsa marinated in a robust mustard and green chilli paste then steamed in a banana leaf. Other stellar offerings include spiced crab cakes steamed in banana leaf, the coconut-based prawn malai curry, or any of the fried fish dishes.

5. Swagath, New Delhi

Its decor and ambience are unremarkable, but Swagath dishes up some of the best seafood in the city. It's certainly worth braving the grungy Defence Colony Market area for a taste of its speciality squid in butter pepper garlic or fish marinated in Mangalorian spices and cooked in a tamarind chilli paste. The tender pesawari barrah kebabs (tandoor lamb chops), spicy South Indian Chettinad curries and deep fried pomfret are good too. There is a Chinese menu as well, with chicken, lamb, seafood and vegetable dishes, as well as fried rice and noodles. But it's the Indian cuisine you'll want to wait in line for.

Prof. Stephen Hawking's BIOGRAPHY

Stephen William Hawking was born on 8 January 1942 (300 years after the death of Galileo) in Oxford, England. His parents' house was in north London, but during the second world war, Oxford was considered a safer place to have babies. When he was eight, his family moved to St. Albans, a town about 20 miles north of London. At the age of eleven, Stephen went to St. Albans School and then on to University College, Oxford; his father's old college. Stephen wanted to study Mathematics, although his father would have preferred medicine. Mathematics was not available at University College, so he pursued Physics instead. After three years and not very much work, he was awarded a first class honours degree in Natural Science.

Stephen then went on to Cambridge to do research in Cosmology, there being no one working in that area in Oxford at the time. His supervisor was Denis Sciama, although he had hoped to get Fred Hoyle who was working in Cambridge. After gaining his Ph.D. he became first a Research Fellow and later on a Professorial Fellow at Gonville and Caius College. After leaving the Institute of Astronomy in 1973, Stephen came to the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics and since 1979, has held the post of Lucasian Professor of Mathematics. The chair was founded in 1663 with money left in the will of the Reverend Henry Lucas who had been the Member of Parliament for the University. It was first held by Isaac Barrow and then in 1669 by Isaac Newton.

Stephen Hawking has worked on the basic laws which govern the universe. With Roger Penrose he showed that Einstein's General Theory of Relativity implied space and time would have a beginning in the Big Bang and an end in black holes. These results indicated that it was necessary to unify General Relativity with Quantum Theory, the other great Scientific development of the first half of the 20th Century. One consequence of such a unification that he discovered was that black holes should not be completely black, but rather should emit radiation and eventually evaporate and disappear. Another conjecture is that the universe has no edge or boundary in imaginary time. This would imply that the way the universe began was completely determined by the laws of science.

His many publications include The Large Scale Structure of Spacetime with G F R Ellis, General Relativity: An Einstein Centenary Survey, with W Israel, and 300 Years of Gravity, with W Israel. Stephen Hawking has three popular books published; his best seller A Brief History of Time, Black Holes and Baby Universes and Other Essays, and most recently in 2001, The Universe in a Nutshell. There are .pdf and .ps versions of his full publication list.

Professor Hawking has twelve honorary degrees. He was awarded the CBE in 1982, and was made a Companion of Honour in 1989. He is the recipient of many awards, medals and prizes, is a Fellow of The Royal Society and a Member of the US National Academy of Sciences.

Stephen Hawking continues to combine family life (he has three children and one grandchild), and his research into theoretical physics together with an extensive programme of travel and public lectures.

Little-known facts about Bill Gates

Bill Gates is the richest man in the world, he is the founder of the world's largest software company Microsoft, these are the facts that very few people may not actually know. However, there's more to the man who is said to have led the third wave of computing than this.

Like, Gates is a college dropout, he scored an almost 95% in his SAT, and much more. Read on for some little-known facts about the tech czar.

Childhood
Born on October 28, 1955 to lawyer father and teacher mother in Seattle, Bill Gates got initiated into the computing world right in his childhood. At the age of 13, while studying at private Lakeside School, Gates discovered his interest in software and started writing his own computer programs. According to some reports, Bill Gates sold his first computer program at the age of 17, a time-tabling system for his high school for $4,200.

Turning point
Interestingly, Gates and three other high school students were banned from computer usage by Seattle-based CCC (Computer Center Corporation) after they were caught exploiting its operating system bugs to steal computer time.

Shocking Aspect
Few people know that Gates is actually a Harvard university dropout. Gates who scored 1590 on his SAT test out of 1600 got admission in Harvard University in the year 1973, after completing his high school.

At Harvard University, Gates and his high school friend Paul Allen worked on a version of the programming language BASIC for the first microcomputer -- MITS Altair. Two years later in 1975, he decided to opt out of college to start Microsoft, what eventually went on to become the world's largest software company.

However, in 2007 Bill Gates finally got a degree from Harvard, when the university conferred him with a honorary degree. At Harvard, Gates met Steve Ballmer who joined Microsoft in 1980. CEO Ballmer was Microsoft’s 24th employee.

Great Aspect
1975, Gates started Microsoft with friend Paul Allen from a rented accommodation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1977, Gates and Allen officially registered a partnership, and Micro-soft became Microsoft.

The biggest breakthrough came in 1980 when Microsoft won a contract from IBM to provide operating system MS-DOS for IBM's new personal computers

Smart Work

Once there was a group of man - a young hot-blooded chap and a big number of old folks, doing timber job in a jungle.

This young chap is very hard working. He always continues to work through his break time and complains that those old folks were wasting time,

having to break few times a day to drink and chat. As times goes by, this young chap noticed that even though he worked through break time and hardly took a rest.

those old folks are chopping the same amount of trees as he did and sometimes did more than he did. It was as if those old folks work through the break time as he did. So he decided to work harder the next day.unfortunately the results were even worse.

One day, one of the old folk invited him for a drink during their break time. That young chap refused and said he has no extra time to spend! Then the old man smiled to him and said it was just a waste of effort to keep chopping trees without re-sharpening your Axe. Sooner or later you will give up or be so exhausted as you have spent too much energy.

Suddenly the young chap realized that actually during break times while those old folks were having a chat, they were also re-sharpening their Axe at the same time! And that's how they can chop faster than him and yet spending lesser time!

The old folk said what we need is efficiency by making use of our skill and ability intelligently. Only then can we have more times to do other things.

Otherwise you will always keep saying ...

I have no time!

Moral of the Story: By taking a short break during work, it would make you feel fresher, think well and work better after the break! (Or am I just finding excuse to take a break). But by taking a break, it is not to stop work but to rest and re-think our strategy to go about it from another angle.

THE 10 THINGS IN LIFE THAT YOU CONTROL

Are you controlling them or vice-versa?
We humans spend much of our time trying to control every aspect of our lives.
Unfortunately, too often we try and control things that are simply beyond our control.
The list of what we can control is quite short, but once you know these 10 things you will be able to take control of your own life.

1.
What you do: Your actions are yours alone.
You choose to make them or not make them and you are responsible for the effects of those actions.

2.
What you say: Likewise, the words you speak (or write) are also consciously chosen.
Like actions, they have an impact on your life and the lives of those you contact.

3.
What you think:
Yes, there are some subconscious thoughts that you can't control.
But the things that you really think about, your beliefs, your ideals, etc. are concepts you have chosen to accept and believe in.

4.
Your work:
Many people like to overlook this one, it being much easier to say, "Oh, I'm! trapped in my job because I don't have a degree, experience, etc."
That's simple a way of denying one's responsibility in having chosen the job in the first place.
It's your job and you chose it.
If you stay (or go), that's a choice as well.

5.
The people you associate with:
There's a famous T-shirt that states: "It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys."
Colloquial is very often correct!
Your friends can either lift you up or bring you down.
You make the decision which type of friends you wish to have.

6.
Your basic physical health.
Much about our health is a factor of genetics, environment, and exposure.
Much more of our health is simply a matter of the decisions we make about our health, such as: diet, exercise, drugs, sleep, routine physicals, check-ups, etc.

7.
The environment you live in:
Your house, the condition of your home, the town you live in, the amenities available to you are all things you can control, although some to a lesser degree (i.e., you decide to tolerate them or move someplace else).

8.
Your fiscal situation:
Having or not having enough money is a factor of what you make versus what you spend.

9.
Your time: You choose how to "spend" your time and how much of your time to give to various activities.
You'll never get more time than the 24 hours your given each day.

10.
Your legacy: All your actions, words, and knowledge that you share while you are living become the gift that you leave when you are gone.

How to block orkut in windows XP or Vista using Hosts file!

Orkut is a great site to hang out with friends or find new friends on the internet. It is very popular in India and many other countries of the world. However, some people might want to block orkut in their PC. This may be due to many reasons and I’m not discussing it. Whatever the reason may be, if you want to block orkut, you can follow the following steps:

Blocking orkut using hosts file:

1.Open the file “c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts” in notepad or go to Start>Run and type “c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts”, choose open with notepad in the option that comes up. Now, the contents of the file will be displayed and it will be something like this:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a ‘#’ symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

2.Now, add these lines at the bottom

127.0.0.1 orkut.com
127.0.0.1 www.orkut.com
127.0.0.1 orkut.co.in
127.0.0.1 www.orkut.co.in

3.Save the file and exit the notepad. Now turn restart your system and orkut will be blocked.

Software/Patch for blocking orkut

Here, I’ve made a small batch program for blocking orkut. Its a small program and you can easily use this program for blocking orkut. THIS FILE IS NOT A VIRUS THOUGH THE SIZE IS VERY SMALL and you can check it by scanning with any antivirus. What you need to do is download the file here and unzip it. Then you open the Orkut_blocker.bat file and it will ask you to choose whether to block or unblock orkut. What this file does is the same as I’ve written in the steps above but here you have little to do or know. So, its a lot easier to use and you can use this very effectively as it quickly changes the necessary settings.

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy.. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.'
What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.'

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great men say, 'Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness…. In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience.'

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling…
And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

Your Weakness OR Your Strength

This is a story of one 10-year-old boy who decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident.
The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training, the master had taught him only one move. "Sensei," the boy finally said,
"Shouldn't I be learning more moves?"
"This is the only move you know, but this is the only
move you'll ever need to know," the Sensei replied.
Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher,
the boy kept training.
Several months later, the Sensei took the boy to his
first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily
won his first two matches. The third match proved
to be more difficult, but after some time, his
Opponent became impatient and charged; the
boy deftly used his one move to win the match.
Still amazed by his success, the boy was now
in the finals.
This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and
more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared
to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about
to stop the match when the Sensei intervened.
"No," the Sensei insisted, "Let him continue."
Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made
a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the
boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the
match and the tournament. He was the champion.
On the way home, the boy and Sensei reviewed

every move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind. "Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?" "You won for two reasons," the Sensei answered. "First, you've almost mastered one of the
most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the
only known defense for that move is for your opponent
to grab your left arm."
The boy's greatest weakness had become his
greatest strength..

Three friends went to a hotel. The bill was Rs 75/-

Each one contributed Rs.25/-. The waiter took the bill to the Cashier.

The cashier was happy & decided to give them a discount of Rs.5/- & asked the waiter to return them Rs.5/-.

Now the waiter was confused. How to distribute Rs 5 among 3 persons? He kept Rs 2 in his pocket &

Gave one rupee to each one of the 3 persons. So initially each one had contributed Rs.25. Now as they are given 1 rupee back, their contribution reduces to Rs 24.

They all contributed Rs 24 “ That is 24—3=72 & 2 rupees are in the waiters pocket.

The total becomes 74. But they Had paid Rs 75.

Where is the remaining 1 rupee??????? ??

Inspirational Story :Monkey and the Dolphin.

One day long ago, some sailors set out to sea in their sailing ship. One of them brought his pet monkey along for the long journey.

When they were far out at sea, a terrible storm overturned their ship. Everyone fell into the sea, and the monkey was sure that he would drown. Suddenly a dolphin appeared and picked him up.

They soon reached the island and the monkey came down from the dolphin's back. The dolphin asked the monkey, "Do you know this place?"

The monkey replied, "Yes, I do. In fact, the king of the island is my best friend. Do you know that I am actually a prince?"

Knowing that no one lived on the island, the dolphin said, "Well, well, so you are a prince! Now you can be a king!"

The monkey asked, "How can I be a king?"

As the dolphin started swimming away, he answered, "That is easy.. As you are the only creature on this island, you will naturally be the king!"

Tomato Story

A Jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy' at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

'You are employed' he said. Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.

The man replied 'But I don't have a computer, neither an email'.

'I'm sorry', said the HR manager. If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job.'

The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate.
He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours,
he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the operation three times,
and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday.

Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US ...
He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.
When the conversation was concluded the broker asked him his email.
The man replied,'I don't have an email.'
The broker answered curiously, 'You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an e mail?!!' The man thought for a while and replied, 'Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!'

Moral of the story -:

Moral 1
Internet is not the solution to your life.

Moral 2
If you don't have Internet, and work hard, you can be a millionaire.

THE CHALLENGE !!

The Japanese have always loved fresh fish. But the water close to Japan has not held many fish for decades. So to feed the Japanese population, fishing boats got bigger and went farther than ever. The farther the fishermen went, the longer it took to bring the fish. If the return trip took more time, the fish were not fresh. To solve this problem, fish companies installed freezers on their boats. They would catch the fish and freeze them at sea. Freezers allowed the boats to go farther and stay longer. However, the Japanese could taste the difference between fresh and frozen fish. And they did not like the taste of frozen fish.

The frozen fish brought a lower price. So, fishing companies installed fish tanks. They would catch the fish and stuff them in the tanks, fin to fin. After a little thrashing around, they were tired, dull, and lost their fresh-fish taste. The fishing industry faced an impending crisis!

But today, they get fresh-tasting fish to Japan. How did they manage? To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies still put the fish in the tanks but with a small shark.

The fish are challenged and hence are constantly on the move. The challenge they face keeps them alive and fresh!

Have you realized that some of us are also living in a pond but most of the time tired and dull? Basically in our lives, sharks are new challenges to keep us active. If you are steadily conquering challenges, you are happy. Your challenges keep you energized. Don't create success and revel in it in a state of inertia. You have the resources, skills and abilities to make a difference. Put a shark in your tank and see how far you can really go!

jinhe naaz hae hind pe wo kahan hain?????????????????????????????

I wish this BLOG reaches right ppl, today itself. Please take this is high priority to share

Indian Flag Burnt in SrinagarShame on Indian govt and Media also for not making this a "Breaking News"

The only country of the world, where one can dare to burn the national flag..

All these become the masala breaking news of Indian news channels
* If Tendulkar cuts the cake which is made to look like national flag, he is condemned.
* If Mandira Bedi wears a saree with the flags of all the countries being portrayed on that, is made to apologies.
* If one cop in Kolkata and one in Bangalore is terminated of his duties for throwing the Indian national flag on ground, by mistake

Then why double standards:

* During the ongoing Amarnath Sangarsh, Jammuites holding the Indian National Flag and chanting 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' are open fired by the J&K Police on orders from the Police Commissioner(belongs to kashmir). Peaceful protesters are killed.
* Similiar to Amarnath case, people in Kashmir, when want to get some demand fulfilled, protest by burning Indian national Flag, hosting Pakistani Flag and chanting 'Hindustan Murdabad, Pakistan Jindabad'. But no body condemns them.. Infact, all such protests are followed by a team of union ministers visiting Kashmir and immediately sanction a few thousand crore rupees for Kashmiris.
*Every year on 14th Aug (Pakistani Independence Day), Pakistani flag is hosted every where in Kashmir , including the govt. buildings and on 15th Aug, same people burn the Indian flag.

Shameless People

Please see below two Incidents

please DISCUSS it to every Indian, let every body know that these are our leaders......
Shameless people....... Fit for Nothing.....
Have a look at two of the leaders we have chosen to rule us.... sitting and having a leisure time when our
National Anthem is being played.....

Disrespect - WHO THE HELL IS SHE ????

Pls forward this to few of our news channels

Hello Everyone,
These pictures I am SHOWING you all shows the gross disrespect and insult to
the Indian National flag by this so called 'spiritual leader' and self
proclaimed 'GOD' Mataji Nirmala Devi. This disrespect to our country's flag
shows that she has definitely no respect or love for the country that gave
her so much and her husband who was an IAS officer and chief of the SCI
(he is seated next to her in the pics). Such a shame..
I do urge and plead with all Indians who deeply love their country to
forward the photos to as many people as possible so that it does catch the
eye of someone higher up in the Indian Govt who can really take some action
against this cult.
